This dental checkup is a terrific time to ask us any questions you may have about your oral health and learn techniques for proper brushing and flossing between visits. We will also examine any dental restorations you’ve had done previously, including fillings and crowns, to ensure that they remain in good shape.

Personalized Attention & Individualized Treatment
During your oral exam, our dentist will take the time to review your health history with you. The exam includes the entire mouth at your first visit and at your checkup appointments every six months. Outside of these visits, the exam may just include an investigation of the particular area troubling you. If you are in pain, have broken teeth, or are suffering any other dental problems, we encourage you to schedule an appointment for an exam.
There are four main types of oral exams:
- Full: If this is your first time visiting A Family Dentist in New Port Richey, we will perform a full evaluation of your teeth and gums to give us a complete picture of your oral health.
- Regular: After your initial visit, we recommend regular checkups at six-month intervals to maintain health and provide regular cleanings.
- Follow-up: After different dental treatments, we may recommend a follow-up visit in order to observe the healing process and assist you with any pain or symptoms you might experience.
- Targeted: For patients experiencing dental problems, our oral exams & X-rays are generally isolated to the area of the mouth causing concern.
